Client Testimonial

Sally

I started personal training with Tom in 2018 and it has helped to make exercise a key part of how I manage living with Parkinson's Disease. It's helped with motivation because there is a greater incentive to exercise, knowing Tom is waiting for me!

An individual exercise programme means that we can focus on particular problem areas, and there is flexibility to adapt things if my needs change or I’m not having a good day.

My symptoms and side effects from medication seem to respond well to the resistance of the equipment we use in the gym, and the repetition of the exercises.

The sessions help with my memory, coordination and attention too.

I’ve developed confidence in relation to body image and I always leave feeling I have achieved something positive.

What separates me from the majority of Exeter personal trainers is my passion to help people exercise who have complex medical conditions.

I have worked as a GP Exercise Referral Instructor, BACPR Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist Instructor and Escape Pain Facilitator. This has provided me with hundreds of hours of experience working with many clients with different types of chronic conditions.

  • Cardiovascular Disease

  • Asthma

  • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder)

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Osteoporosis

  • Joint Replacement

  • Depression / Stress / Anxiety

  • Diabetes

  • Parkinson's

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Stroke

Exercising with a chronic condition can be very scary because of the worry of potentially causing yourself more harm then good.

I understand the importance of helping people remain active whilst ensuring they are not putting themselves under any unnecessary risk.

I help my clients to regain their confidence with exercise allowing them to enjoy a healthier and happier life!
